MySuper is the default option for members who don’t choose how to invest their super. You can choose to invest in MySuper, select from our other investment options or you can have a combination of these. Our MySuper option invests in higher growth investments when you’re younger to give your super more opportunity to grow. Under Investment options Our investment menu lets you choose an investment strategy for your needs and preferences.
The menu suits all levels of investment knowledge and experience. You have the choice to customise your investment strategy or use our default MySuper investment strategy. When you join Plum, your money is invested into the investment option (s) you choose, or defaulted to MySuper if you don’t make a choice. It’s a good idea to regularly review your super account to make sure it’s meeting your investment needs.
The recent investment market downturn may also be a prompt to look at your investment choices. Currently, our MySuper option has a long-term allocation of 70% growth and 30% defensive assets. We’re changing the way MySuper works to provide members a long-term allocation mix of growth investments and defensive investments that changes as they age.
MySuper has been designed to change with you as you get older. MySuper invests in higher growth investments when you’re younger to give your super more opportunity to grow. From your 55th birthday, we’ll gradually replace a portion of the higher growth investments with more defensive investments unt il your 65th birthday.
